Leave No Trace
The Summit at Snoqualmie is working to become a Leave No Trace Gold Standard Partner and is increasing efforts to live and lead by the Leave No Trace principles. The Seven Principles of Leave No Trace for winter activities are designed to minimize human impact while enjoying the outdoors. Here are the principles adapted for winter conditions!
Research the area, check for regulations, and prepare for extreme weather and hazards.
Stick to established trails, use rock, gravel, or snow, and avoid fragile vegetation.
Pack out all trash and solid human waste, and use catholes dug six to eight inches deep.
Do not alter the natural ecosystem by taking rocks, plants, or animals.
Avoid loud voices and noises to preserve the natural environment.
Be especially cautious around animals that are in season for mating, nesting, or raising young.
Yield to other users on trails and take breaks away from trails.
