Alpental Opening For Season

Fresh snowfall today and a lot of work from our crew on the mountain means we have good news! Alpental will open Sunday 11AM-4PM with advanced to expert terrain/conditions only. Please use extra caution, look ahead, watch for marked & unmarked hazards, and take it easy out there. Lower mountain will have limited terrain, with few restricted routes to the base area. Upper mountain has much better coverage and conditions, but terrain will be limited there as well.

Silver Fir is currently on standby, however, our teams will be reassessing at 8AM.

Caution: Early Season Conditions

Low snow depth has uncovered the usual hazards on the hill, such as exposed rock/dirt, small tree stumps, creeks, and holes. Fresh snow on the upper slopes will help cover up some of those hazards, but be wary of hazards below the surface after spring storms. Always look ahead and watch for both marked and unmarked hazards. It's up to you, the skier, to be aware of risks on your way down. Please ski and ride slowly, especially on lower mountain where terrain is restricted.

Trails & Grooming at Alpental

Low snow depth and soft snow create very challenging grooming conditions. Our operators will be working hard each night to groom as much terrain as possible, but we expect minimal to no grooming at Alpental for opening day. Be sure to check the trail report in the morning for changes.

  • For opening day we will have limited terrain available on both upper and lower mountain. We plan to open the following:

    Lower Mountain

    Upper Mountain
    • Debbie's Gold
    • Eisfallen
    • Meister
    • Ingrid's Inspiration
    • Sessel
    • St. Bernard

The International side of the mountain will be closed for opening day. We plan to open additional terrain as conditions allow.
