Alpental ARC - Saturdays and/or Sundays

Be ready to carve with us! If you are looking for an all mountain program that uses race focused skill development along with solid, all-round technical on-piste skills, this is your program! Developing strong black & double black diamond race inspired all-mountain skiers is the goal of this program mixing in some gate training with lots of technical skiing off the race course too. Ultimately, honing skills for alpine racing and all mountain skiing will be a big focal point for participants. If your child really enjoys skiing with some speed and stays mostly on the groomed, steeper, more difficult trails, this is a great fit for them. Please note: if your child likes to ski the entire mountain and constantly searches for lots of jumps, trees, steeps, powder and generally enjoys skiing and riding anything off the groomed trails while trying to constantly improve, please check out the Alpental Freeride program!

The Alpental ARC program replaces the Alpental Buddy Werner program. Former Buddy Werner participants should consider this new program or possibly the Alpental Freeride Program.

This program participates in two race events. Students are not required to race (small race fee is extra), however, the program does not conduct regular lessons on these days. Coaches guide their students through the race day.

Alpental Freeride - Saturdays and/or Sundays

This program defines 'new school', big mountain freeride! Both skiers and snowboarders are eligible for this new program which focuses on technical skills, expression, use of terrain, freestyle and challenging skiers and snowboarders to push their individual limits all in a positive, supportive and fun environment. Participants will be grouped into either a Freeride Development squad or will join the IFSA Competitor squad depending on their individual goals and riding abilities. Generally, Alpental Freeride program squads are formed by: discipline (ski or snowboard), age, ability, competitive goals and friend request when suitable. For complete information including video of last year's Freeride pilot program, click here. Please note: if your child is not confidently navigating both the upper and lower mountain at Alpental and/or chooses to stay mostly on groomed runs, please check out either the Alpental ARC program or Alpental Mighty Skiers and Riders.

Looking for Alpental A-Team? A-Team is now part of Alpental Freeride (if you participated in A-Team in 2013/2014, this is the program you will want to choose).

In the Alpental Leadership Program you’ll discover the great skier or rider—and the great leader—already in you. Great skiers and riders move down the mountain easily and naturally, no matter what is thrown at them. Great leaders are the same with life. In the morning you’ll learn practical leadership skills, assisting instructors in teaching kids to ski or ride. The rest of the day, guided by our experienced staff, you’ll play, explore, and master how to move through snow and move through life with confidence and agility. By the end of the program, you’ll discover that you can work hard, play harder, and push your limits, all while enjoying the mountains. Each participant will receive a uniform jacket to wear for the season. Snowboarding slots are limited; priority will be given to second year ALPys.
