A season of lessons = a lifetime of fun!

There’s no better way to build your skills than through a series of lessons during the season. We offer programs for all ages and abilities, lasting from four to ten weeks. Plus, you’ll meet other skiers and riders of your ability along the way. It’s no wonder why The Summit has been known as THE place to learn for over 65 years!

ALPENTAL

You’ll find some of the most challenging terrain in the Cascades at Alpental. You’ll also find some of the best lesson programs in the business. Our 8 week programs are dedicated to making sure every participant has fun while building a foundation for a lifetime of skiing or riding. Just don’t blame us if you grow up to be a ski-bum.

Look for BROWN BEAR VILLAGE at Alpental, a fun filled, energetic, haven designed for children to experience the joy of snow sports. There you’ll find our lesson programs as well as many surprises! MINI SKIERS and MIGHTY SKIERS ski classes are small and formed by age and ability. Conquer some the best terrain Alpental has to offer with our BUDDY WERNER intro to race program! Snowboarding? We’ve got it. From first-timers to full-on shredders our MIGHTY RIDERS program is the answer.

The ALPENTAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM, just for teens, focuses on team building and leadership skills while you work side by side with one of our talented instructors. You'll be prepped to take the AASI/PSIA level one professional instructor exam, as well as potentially be eligible for school credit.

If you’re an adult looking for some weekend fun, we have the class for you no matter what your ability. Our ADULT PRIME TIME and MOUNTAIN PERFORMANCE programs allow you to learn in small groups with others of your own age and ability. If you can’t join us on the weekend, check out FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE. Both kids and adults of all abilities can play under the lights on Friday nights at Alpental.

SUMMIT WEST

Summit West has some of best learning terrain we have to offer. You’ll experience wide-open runs and gentle cruisers, perfect for refining your skills.

The FUN FOUR program at Summit West offers 3 separate sessions to choose from throughout the winter. You get four consecutive weeks to hone your skills, smooth out your style, try something new, or play with friends and family. Groups are formed by age and ability.

Looking for telemark lessons? Our WEDNESDAY TELEMARK SERIES has a class to match your ability. Start your lunges now.

Our COACHES’ ASSISTANTS program is designed specifically for teens to develop team work, self-esteem, teaching skills, and improve your own skiing and riding! You'll be exposed to instruction, parks & pipes, racing, ski patrol, and much more. Program includes a Big S pass, Uniform, training clinics, and the use of the instructor locker room. Work experience and training can be used towards school credit. Successful participants are offered instructor positions with The Summit Learning Center.

SUMMIT CENTRAL

Summit Central has a little bit of something for everyone. Come play and learn at America’s largest night skiing area! Our teaching terrain is specially designed for beginners and offers three surface lifts making your experience effortless!

Need a mid-week get away? WINTER FUN WEDNESDAY and WILD WEDNESDAY NIGHTS are designed for those who can escape mid-week from work or school.

Want a great way to jumpstart your weekend? Escape to the mountain for FREE RIDE FRIDAYS and improve your skiing or snowboarding under the lights.

CONSECUTIVE WEEK LESSONS AT THE SUMMIT...No matter which program or base area you choose, an unforgettable experience is just around the corner.

Registration is required for consecutive week lesson programs. Enrollment is limited. Many programs do reach capacity, so be sure to register early. Registration for 2008-2009 winter season programs will be available in the fall.

FYI--All prices are lesson only. PLEASE PURCHASE LIFT ACCESS AND RENTALS SEPARATELY. Most Consecutive Week Programs DO NOT occur on Presidents' Day Weekend.
