KING COUNTY FINALS OF THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS TO BE HELD AT THE SUMMIT AT SNOQUALMIE

Snoqualmie Pass, Wash. February 7th, 2007– The King County regional finals of the Special Olympics will take place this Saturday, February 10th, at The Summit at Snoqualmie. Participants from various areas of King County and beyond will compete in a variety of activities.

Over 250 athletes, ranging in age from 8 to 65, along with their coaches and supporters, are expected to turn out Saturday at the Summit West base area . A series of races will begin with opening ceremonies at 9am. Two awards ceremonies will immediately follow the conclusion of competition. Athletes will be separated by ability level for slalom, giant slalom, and downhill alpine races. Nordic events will take place at nearby Ironhorse State Park.

“We are honored to host such an important event that brings together so many people,” said Holly Lippert, communications supervisor for The Summit. “The accomplishments of these athletes are truly extraordinary.”
