FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THE SUMMIT AT SNOQUALMIE WINS THIRD SAFETY AWARD IN A DECADE
“The NSAA safety awards are a nice way of knowing that our efforts and successes are recognized by our industry peers,” said Jeff Krueger, risk manager. “However, with or without awards, we will continue to focus our efforts on these important areas to ensure that our successes are the norm and part of our culture at The Summit.”
Nationwide, ski resorts submitted documentation of their efforts during National Safety Week, January 13th-19th, 2007. A committee of NSAA members then judged the submissions and a total of eight awards were given out Nationwide in a variety of categories.
The slogans “Be a Helmet Hero” and “Save Your Skull” promoting helmet usage and “Back to Back, Bottom to Bottom,” emphasizing chairlift safety appeared on buttons, temporary tattoos, stickers, posters, banners, window paintings, coloring contests, website copy and snow phone messages to educate guests of the importance of safety on the slopes. From food and beverage employees painting murals with the safety slogans to terrain park staff emphasizing Smart Style safe riding behaviors, The Summit staff’s united front helped further circulate the message.
The Summit at Snoqualmie is a proud partner with the USFS offering equal opportunity recreation.
