Subaru Vertfest at Alpental

Mar 21
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

This event has been cancelled. Read on for details...

The unthinkable has happened and we are having to cancel Vertfest Alpental this winter. There simply is not enough snow on the ground at Alpental to host the event safely, and the predictions for additional snow are not very promising at this point. This was a difficult decision for us, as Vertfest has become a much-anticipated event for the Northwest backcountry community and a significant fundraiser for NWAC. If you are interested in donating to NWAC, we encourage you to donate via nwac.us/support/donate/

Thanks for your patience, understanding, and support during a tough season.

Subaru Vertfest, presented by Outdoor Research and supported by Alpental and Pro Guiding Service, is fast becoming the largest national backcountry festival in America. The entire weekend is a giant fundraiser for the Northwest Avalanche Center.

Party Time - Saturday Evening:

Live music and beer garden blasts the base area immediately after clinics. Don't miss this or you'll hear about it!

Sunday, March 22

Day two entails one of the most grueling Randonee Races in N. America taking place at the legendary Alpental ski area. The Monika Johnson Memorial Rally randonee race starts at the base area at 3100' and the rapid vert climb to 5400' defines this race encompassing one of the most challenging mountains in the northern hemisphere. Last year witnessed 140 hard cores and fun lovin' AT friends testing their mettle against Alpental's steep slopes for ultimate AT glory. This year will prove once again that this is the working man's Randonee race in the Americas, not something you'll want to miss watching!
