- Terrain Parks
Despite a little precipitation last weekend, the totally new Alpy Park went off!
Alpental is already fun enough in the spring, but throw in some transitional park features, and holy moly, you'll have a dang good time! It's been many year's since man-made features have graced the slopes of Alpental and a spring park extends the excitement all the way to the end of the season.
SUMMIT PARKS PEEPS PASS REQUIRED SUNDAY APRIL 30TH AND BEYOND
Take the course online, then get a pass at guest services in the Alpental Lodge. You can also get a temporary PEEPs pass by taking the class at the mountain in the Pettigrew building at the top of Armstrong Express. We will have two classes each day we are open, one at 11am and another at 1pm.
This whole thing is kind of an experiment, but we have already found how fitting transitional snow features are in a setting such as Alpental.
Coming up Armstrong Express any Alpentalic will be surprised to see a hand dug stunt ditch halfway up the chair. Take a lap through it and you will become a believer. The size of the pipe is very approachable for all abilities, but also entirely sendable. Plus being hand dug, the tranny seems right at home under the cliffs of Ingrid's Inspiration. The pipe also makes for some good chairlift entertainment.
In addition to the sweet stunt ditch, the crew has also whipped up a big quarter pipe with a couple tree jib options. There is a also small flat rail at the top, and two table top jumps, all perfect for getting some new tricks dialed before the end of the season.
All in all, Alpy Park has been a blast and there's only two more weekends to party. Grab your buds, a bbq, lawn chairs and get up here and help us shut down the 2016/17 season the right way!
