2018 Smash Life recap and results
January 8, 2018
For the seventh year, over 100 snowboarders met at Alpental Ski Area above Snoqualmie Pass to honor a lost friend all while making new ones. Smash Life is a fundraiser for a Montana non-profit called A-Rob's Plant a Seed Project that helps get kids who may not have the means up on the ski hill.
Over 20 volunteer diggers created the best course yet, with 26 man-made berms. The fastest time of the day came from self-proclaimed "washed up snowboarder" Todd Kirby at just over 51 seconds, beating a heavy field of current and former pros.
A huge thank you to Alpental lodge, patrol and administrative staff for helping raise over $4,000 for our cause as well as everyone who had a part in shoveling the course. We can't forget the companies that help this event happen every year. K2 Snowboards, Volcom, BlackStrap, Traeger Grills, DC Snowboards, Capita and Burton.
