Newly Expanded Summit East Now Open
View as PDFSnoqualmie Pass, Wash. February 5th, 2011 – The highly anticipated opening of Summit East was debuted to the public earlier today as the first skiers and snowboarders were loaded onto the East Peak triple chairlift.
East Peak, one of two chairlifts on which construction began last summer, provides access to the front side of Summit East while the work-in-progress Hidden Valley chair will service the backside. Combined, these chair lifts will provide access to over 150 acres of terrain, 65 of which is brand new.
After a landslide in January of 2009 took out the area’s main lift, closing Summit East for two seasons, expansion plans were announced in accordance with The Summit’s Master Development Plan. Known for its gladed, primarily intermediate terrain, Summit East is a favorite of locals and guests alike.
Summit East will operate weekends-only from 9am-4pm. For further information and announcements of when the Hidden Valley chair may open, visit www.summitatsnoqualmie.com.
