Summit East Expansion
THIS JUST IN:
Check out this great video showing some helicopter action as it pours concrete for the lift towers:
This is the news you’ve been waiting for…Summit East will re-open this season with two chairlifts that will provide access to 150 acres of skiing and riding, including 65 acres of terrain last accessible over 20 years ago.
In addition to a front side chair that will unload at the top knob and load in the base area (no more hill climbs to access the lift!), a chairlift will be installed on the backside, allowing access to over 65 acres of new terrain. Last accessible over 20 years ago, you may have heard some legendary tales of what the backside and top knoll runs have to offer. This season will be your chance to experience it for yourself, and create some memories of your own!

After a landslide took out much of the area in January of 2009, breaking many hearts in its path, we couldn’t be happier to resurrect our beloved Summit East, bigger and better than ever. Long-hailed as the best tree skiing at The Summit, Summit East is home to some epic intermediate and advanced runs, steep pitches, consistent fall lines and stunning views of the Gold Creek Valley.
Want a sneak-peek? Enjoy this video which primarily features the amazing terrain where the front-side chair will be located, as well as Summit East’s breath-taking views:
Also, don’t forget to guarantee your access to the new Summit East by purchasing your 2010-2011 Big S Pass before prices jump on September 15th. Details here.
