Go With a Pro!
The Summit at Snoqualmie is Proud to Employ the Highest Number of Certified Snowsports Instructors in the Northwest!
What’s the big deal with “certification” anyway?
The Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) are nonprofit associations dedicated to promoting the sports of skiing and snowboarding through instruction.
PSIA-AASI utilizes national certification standards via training and examinations to validate an instructor’s skills, ensuring a consistent teaching methodology.
Through continuous PSIA/AASI training and certification we ensure our instructors receive tools that provide insight into creating powerfully effective learning situations to help guests get the most out of their snowsports experience.
Certifications are available in the areas of alpine skiing, snowboarding, and nordic skiing. Additionally, our instructors receive ongoing training on children, freestyle, seniors and even cross-discipline to learn how to teach a great lesson regardless of the discipline.
Currently there are three primary categories of certifications in PSIA or AASI: Level 1, Level II and Level III. Level I certification is defined as the instructor having the ability to perform and teach beginner and intermediate tasks on matching terrain. The higher the level of certification, the more advanced the level of teaching mastered and provided.
The Summit Learning Center has a consistently high exam pass rate for our instructors, boasting the highest number of certified staff in the Northwest. As a result, we are excited to be able to offer a highly trained and dynamic staff to meet your lesson needs, affording you the opportunity to build the confidence and skill you need to continue enjoying your snowsport of choice!
